Johnstown Housing Authority employees have come together to collect donations from our generous coworkers in an effort to provide goods and other assistance to local charities and community organizations. JHA Administration is very proud of our employees' generosity and willingness to create initiatives that benefit our local community.

When the Cambria County Backpack Project announced that they were in need of volunteers to help pack bags on short notice, our staff was glad to step in!

Johnstown Housing Authority strongly supports CCBP in their mission, especially since their services may directly affect the youth in our communities.

The CCBP is a partnership fund of the Community Foundation of the Alleghenies and is housed in The Learning Lamp. They provide weekend meals throughout the school year to kids in Cambria County who face chronic hunger.

December 2021

In December, our employees collected coats and other winter gear to donate to CASA/Beginnings.

Our employees' donations will help quite a few families stay warm this winter!

For those who aren’t familiar, CASA is Court Appointed Special Advocates for children and Beginnings serves children from birth to age 5, enabling them to reach their full potential and empowering their families through early intervention, extensive educational opportunities, and advocacy.

November 2021

For the month of November, our employees decided to collect pet food and supplies to donate to the Pet Food Pantry at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Locust St in downtown Johnstown.

This act of kindness resulted in over 180 pounds of food, 40 pounds of cat litter, 2 dog coats and over $100 cash being donated to St Mark's Pet Food Pantry.

The Pet Food Pantry's next days of operation are December 8 & 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Check their website for additional information.
